Those in the creative industry are encouraged to take advantage of the programmes and incentives offered in the Pelan Langkah Segera Ekonomi Industri Kreatif (PELAKSANA).

PELAKSANA is prepared by the Malaysian National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) for the industry players that are heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The plan would focus on assisting and providing funds to industry players from July until December this year.

The PELAKSANA plan focuses on three main activities which are production, distribution and screening.

The plan comprises of three initiatives which are Digital Content Fund, Human Capital Development Grant and Incentive Package under the Compulsory Screening Scheme, totalling of RM50 million.

Under this plan, Finas would revive the creative industry through the cooperation of private entities such as local television stations and assisting the stations to generate earnings through advertisements and new contents.

The plan also aims to create job opportunities for local production companies, freelancers and supporting industries such as catering services, equipment rental providers and others, as well as increasing the ownership of Content Copyright among local producers for future profits.

The funds could assist production companies to resume filming besides paying back loans and other deferred payments.
